Pat Byrne's public accounting career includes a partnership with Kaelin and Byrne, PSC, which merged with McCauley, Nicolas & Company, LLC in 1982. Industry Experience Pat has over 30 years experience in public accounting. He maintains a general practice with concentrations and extensive experience in taxation, business consulting, mergers and acquisitions, wealth transfer, business transition, strategic planning, business valuations, litigation support, and business financing. He has been very involved in negotiating the sale of numerous companies in the past several years, including maximizing the after-tax benefits to the sellers. Pat has served as an expert witness in numerous business valuations and marital dissolution proceedings. In the past he has served as a mediator to resolve disputed issues. He possesses a strong background in management consulting, particularly in assisting a business to focus on a long-term vision, and often helps both new and established businesses to obtain financing. Education A graduate of Bellarmine College (now Bellarmine University) in 1972 with a B.A. in Accounting, Pat is licensed to practice as a CPA in Kentucky and Indiana. He is a graduate of Leadership Southern Indiana. Professional and Community Activities Professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society and the Institute of Business Appraisers, Inc. Some of the community and civic organizations in which Pat actively participates or provides support include the Metro United Way, Southern Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Clark Memorial Hospital Foundation, Mary Anderson Center, Guerin, Inc., and St. Mary of the Knobs Church. He has been publicly recognized for his outstanding contributions to some of these organizations. In 2003 he was one of five people honored by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis for community service and as models of the benefits and excellence of Catholic education.
