Pamela Catlett Profile :
VP - Investor Relations - Nike Inc.

Pamela Catlett Biography :

As vice president of Investor Relations, Pamela Catlett is responsible for managing Nike’s relationships with shareholders, which means working to ensure investors and analysts have the appropriate information needed to make educated decisions. It also means serving as the day-to-day voice of Nike management to Wall Street, and, in turn, the voice of shareholders within Nike.

Before joining Nike, Pam was Vice President of Corporate Relations at Kaiser Ventures, Inc. in Ontario, Calif. She also spent five years in various marketing and communications roles for Willdan Associates in Anaheim, Calif.

Pam is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute, where she has served as a national speakers bureau member since 1998. She has been a national conference speaker in 1997, 1998 and 2001. She also served as a board member of the Orange County chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute from 1994 to 1999.

Pam is married to her college sweetheart, Ben, and has two sons, Holden and Griffin. She is a runner, plus an avid sports fan who loves to watch everything from football and basketball to track & field. She also enjoys outdoor activities with her family, especially bicycling and skiing.

There are two defining moments in sports for Pam. The first was Joan Benoit’s victory in the Olympic Marathon in Los Angeles. This was the first Olympic event which allowed women to compete, although no one expected Benoit to even qualify. The second was when Mary Decker won the 1,500 meters in the 1983 world championships in Helsinki. Nike made a poster of Mary Decker leaning toward the finish line with gritted teeth, eyes closed, and her competitors diving toward the finish line.

The owner of my hometown running shop gave me the poster in 1983, and it’s been hanging on my wall ever since, Pam said. Mary Decker and Joan Benoit were the trailblazers for women athletes in the early 1980s.
