Pamela J. Marple is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. She is a member of the Trial Department.
Pam’s practice involves all aspects of civil litigation, as well as white collar criminal proceedings and government investigations. She frequently represents clients during concurrent proceedings that include a variety of litigation matters as well as government actions. Her high-profile clients have included major insurance companies and their executives, performing artists, prominent law firms and their founders, lobbyists, and members of the United States Senate and the House of Representatives.
Prior to joining McDermott, Pam was counsel and a litigation partner at prominent law firms in Washington, D.C. Earlier, she served the Governmental Affairs Committee of the U.S. Senate, as both Chief Counsel to the Minority on the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and Deputy Chief Counsel to the Minority for the committee’s special investigation into campaign finance activities. In those roles, Pam managed investigative teams and strategy, examined witnesses during hearings, and worked closely with senators and their staffs. Prior to those positions, Pam was counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she worked on crime and oversight issues.
Pam began her legal career by litigating for five years as an Honors Program Trial Attorney with the Department of Justice, Civil Division, Federal Programs Branch, where she defended major legislation against constitutional challenges.
Pam is a member of the District of Columbia and Wisconsin Bar Association. She is a former co-chair and elected member of the Steering Committee of the Administrative Law and Agency Practice Section of the D.C. Bar. She is admitted to practice before a number of courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, the United States Court of Claims, and the United States Tax Court.
During law school, Pam was articles editor for the Wisconsin Law Review.
