CEO and company founder Omar Khudari brings over two decades of entrepreneurial vision, game design programming and management experience to Cecropia. Omar began Cecropia in 2001 with the goal of creating a new genre in interactive entertainment: the world’s first filmgame. Omar has a proven track record as a successful video gaming entrepreneur. In 1987, after five years with educational software developer Tom Snyder Productions, Omar and fellow programmer David Kaemmer founded Papyrus Design Group, an entertainment software developer that would become the leading creator of auto racing simulations for the PC. As CEO, Omar grew Papyrus from an initial investment of $2,000 into a leading entertainment property with an annual revenue of $15 million. In 1995, Papyrus was acquired by game publisher and developer Sierra On-line, a division of Vivendi Universal. On the heels of Papyrus’ sale, Omar became COO for Viaweb, a privately held company that provided the highest-ranked software and reporting tools for operating e-commerce sites, which was acquired by Yahoo! in 1998. After Viaweb, Omar made direct, early-stage investments in several technology companies until starting Cecropia in 2001. |
