Normand Poisson, who was promoted to full-time scout on Aug. 4, 1999 after serving as a part-time scout during the 1999-2000 Inaugural season, is responsible for the evaluation of talent in Quebec and the New England region, and crossover scouting in other regions Before joining the Thrashers in 1998, Poisson spent three seasons as an amateur scout for the Calgary Flames He also worked for the Boston Bruins and the Quebec Nordiques during his scouting career From 1987-95, Poisson scouted in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the last two as chief scout with the Halifax Mooseheads Poisson played collegiate hockey at the University of Quebec at Three Rivers from 1982-85, and earned a degree in physical education from UQTR, and a computer science degree from Multihexa College in Quebec City, Quebec He and his wife, Sylvie, and daughter, Amy Lee, reside in Charny, Quebec. |
