Norman Tien, Ph.D., is Dean of the Case Western Reserve University School of Engineering in Cleveland, Ohio. Professor Tien is also Chairman of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, Nord Professor of Engineering and the Ohio Eminent Scholar in Condensed Matter Physics at Case. Dr. Tien was Co-Director of the MEMS Center at the University of California at Berkeley where he held joint faculty positions in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science departments. Professor Tien’s research focuses on Microelectronics and Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS). He has more than forty publications, a dozen invited seminars, and ten conference and workshop presentations. Dr. Tien received his PhD in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California at San Diego, his MS in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign, and his BS in engineering physics from the University of California at Berkeley. |
