Dr. Norman Sheridan is the Executive Vice President of Technology and Operations at ZiLOG. Norm possesses a wide range of skills in the product marketing development and sales disciplines. He has extensive experience with semiconductor product development including general purpose and ASSP mixed signal microcontrollers and microprocessors as well as large ASIC designs including development tools and embedded software applications. Norm has a particular interest in product development cycle time utilizing a high-performance core team approach used in conjunction with a 'community of practice' method of knowledge sharing. Norm has also been heavily involved in the development of ZiLOG's new Design Center in Asia.
Prior to joining ZiLOG Norm was the Director of the Americas for the consulting division of Mentor Graphics Corporation. His objective at Mentor Graphics was to provide services that improve customer productivity by methodology infrastructure and design consulting of ASIC IC embedded software and board products.
Before moving to the US Norm worked in the UK as a Division manager for Memec a semiconductor distribution company. Prior to that Norm managed product development for DSP processors used in a range of sonar application at Marconi Underwater Systems Ltd UK.
Norm holds a B.Sc. from Imperial College of Science and Technology University of London England. He also holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Microelectronics from Brunel and Southampton Universities in England. |
