Mr. Kanari, 60, has served as Deputy President & Chief Executive Officer of the Global Business Unit of The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd. since May 2005 (The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. since Jan.2006). He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of UnionBanCal and Union Bank of California from July 2001 to May 2005. He served as Vice Chairman of UnionBanCal and Union Bank of California from July 2000 to July 2001. He was appointed a Director of The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd in June 1997 and was elected a Deputy President of The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd (The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. since Jan.2006). and a Managing Officer of Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group in May 2005 (Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group since Oct. 2005).
