Experience: Nick has 25 years experience in Management Accounting, coming from a career in Northern Virginia as the Controller of a range of mid-sized companies engaged in high-tech electronic and electro-mechanical system manufacture, software development, wholesaling and government contracting. He has a successful record of resolving troubled accounting situations and implementing sound accounting systems. He has developed reliable budget and forecasting systems, cost models and accurate cost rates and standards that improve profitability and company management. He has solid experience of contract revenue recognition and maximizing revenue opportunities within contracts. He has been responsible for preparing and presenting corporate financial statements in compliance with GAAP and interfacing with the external auditors. He has several years recent experience engaged in a series of internal control audits in accord with Sarbanes Oxley, SAS 70 Type II and other internal and regulatory compliance requirements. Engagements have included service to large national and international companies, as well as federal government agencies. Nick moved to the Tidewater region in Fall 2006 and worked as the Director of Finance for a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) health care organization prior to commencing his career with Goodman & Company's Management Consulting Division in January of 2008.
