Nick Ward is currently heading up the Ritz-Carlton resort project on Rose Island, Bahamas, located four miles northeast of Nassau harbor. Gencom is both developer and investor in this $1 billion enterprise. The project is in the advanced design phase and will be entering construction in late 2007 with targeted completion in 2010. Rose Island is the largest mixed used Ritz-Carlton project in the world and will have a world class marina facility and a complete array of amenities to meet the wishes of owners of several types of residential real estate that will accompany the Ritz-Carlton Hotel there. Previously, Nick had a successful career at Marriott International where, as Senior Vice President, he was responsible for the company's lodging development activities throughout Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean. During his 20 years with Marriott, he held various management positions with responsibility for financing the Company's international business activities and overseeing hotel development throughout the world. His development experience includes developing and financing hotels in Hong Kong, Moscow, Warsaw, Prague, London, and Paris as well as more than a dozen markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. Nick's development responsibilities included the worldwide Bulgari Hotels and Resorts (BHR), a joint venture between Marriott and Bulgari of Rome, Italy. This partnership was formed in 2001 to create a new, ultra luxury portfolio of boutique hotels in a limited number of exclusive destinations. Prior to joining Marriott, Nick spent 10 years with Citicorp, primarily in investment banking. His time with that institution included several overseas living assignments in Asia and Mexico. Nick Ward received his Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University and his Master of Business Administration from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. |
