Nick Polk is in his fourth year with the Falcons as Director of Football Operations. He will assist President & General Manager Rich McKay with a variety of football operations duties, including day-to-day operational issues, coaches and players contracts, salary cap management, and player evaluation. Polk also oversees the Falcons equipment and training departments. From 2004-06 in addition to his Falcons duties, Polk was responsible for all aspects of the football operations for the Georgia Force, namely; scouting, player selection/development and coach and player contracts. The Force won the Southern Division title, the National Conference Championship and advanced to ArenaBowl XIX in 2005.
Polk came to Atlanta after serving as the Senior Director of Football Operations for NFL Europe and previously Director of Football Administration. In that role, he directed all of the NFLE League football operations. His responsibilities included player recruitment, NFL player allocation, administration of the draft, coach/player contracts and organization of training camp, in addition to managing the football administration for the League. Nick also served on the NFL Diversity Committee in 2003 and 2004, assisting in football operations at Super Bowl XXXVII and Super Bowl XXXVIII and working as an NFL instant replay communicator in 2003 and '04.
Polk was the head football coach at his alma mater, Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, for four years. He earned a degree in health and physical education and went on to gain a master's degree in physical education/higher education from James Madison University. He spent five years at JMU as a graduate assistant coach for the secondary, defensive line, and linebackers. He also served in different capacities at Brown University and Delaware State University. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Southern Conn. Nick participated in the inaugural June class of the NFL Managers Training program at the Stanford Executive Education Graduate School of Business.
Polk was raised in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and now lives in Braselton, Georgia with his wife, Michelle and two daughters Maddie (7) and Michaela (5). |
