Ms. Cuneo is currently a partner of Red Associates, LLC, a venture capital firm in the financial services sector. She previously served as a consultant to Conseco, Inc. from March 2001 through December 2001. From 1992 through March 2001, she was an Executive Vice President, of Corporate Development for Conseco, Inc. Her responsibilities included identifying future acquisition candidates and other new business opportunities. She was instrumental in the formation of Conseco Capital Partners II, L.P. (Partnership II), an acquisition partnership formed in January 1994 with $624 million of equity commitments from 35 limited partners, including the California Public Employee Retirement System, the State of Michigan pension fund, Citibank, Bankers Trust, Bank of America Illinois and other major institutional investors. Partnership II completed the $452 million acquisition of American Life Holdings, Inc. in September 1994.
Prior to Conseco, Ms. Cuneo was senior vice president and corporate officer of General Electric Capital Corp. During her six years at GE Capital, she evaluated new business opportunities with a special focus on the insurance industry.
During an 11-year career with the General Accounting Office, Ms. Cuneo managed operational audits, worked with top GAO management in monitoring various quality improvement task forces, and spent a year in the Presidential Executive Exchange Program working with senior executives at Xerox Corporation designing a total quality control process for Xerox business units. Ms. Cuneo also spent three years as the deputy director general of the Metropolitan Transit Authority in New York City, where her responsibilities included planning and directing all audits of the MTA's operations.
Ms. Cuneo graduated from the College of New Rochelle (N.Y.) with a Bachelor’s degree in economics and later received an MBA from Iona (N.Y.) College. She attended the Executive Development Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
