Neil is both a graduate of the Royal Air Force College, Cranwell as well as the University of Hull, where he was awarded a B Sc degree in Chemistry. After further study he received a Ph D degree in Organic Chemistry from the same institute. Neil joined Displaytech Inc. in July 1999 as a Senior Research Chemist, where he was responsible for the generation of numerous liquid crystal material patents, specifically relating to ferroelectric liquid crystal material and their application in various forms of display devices. He was promoted to Principle FLC Chemist and was an integral member of the team that developed an FLCoS monochrome viewfinder for use in digital camcorders and digital still cameras, which resulted in the generation of more than $20 MM per year in revenue. During 2002, he worked as a consultant to several large and well established Asian-based LCD manufacturers and in early 2003 he was a founder of COLED Technologies Incorporated, which was created with the aim of developing and exploiting novel OLED materials and technologies. He leads the technology development of the Company's advanced materials as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and manages day to day operations, customer interactions, and financing of the Company as it's President.
