Neil Rubenstein represents financial institutions, private investors and loan servicers in a wide variety of financing transactions, including the purchase and sale of loan portfolios, securitizations, negotiation and documentation of loan transactions, problem loan workouts, letter of credit matters and bank operation issues. He also has substantial bankruptcy and litigation experience in creditors' rights, bank operations, and lender liability matters.
Mr. Rubenstein is a member of the Financial Institutions Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California and past chairman of its Commercial Lending Subcommittee. He is also a member of the Legal Services Committee of the California Mortgage Bankers Association, the San Francisco Bank Attorneys Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He is a panelist for the San Francisco Superior Court Early Settlement Program.
Mr. Rubenstein has written and lectured extensively on issues of interest to the financial services industry, including participating as a speaker at the California Bankers Association Bank Counsel seminar on Revised Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code. He has also spoken on real estate issues for commercial lenders at programs sponsored by the California State Bar's Financial Institutions Committee and the California Bankers
Mr. Rubenstein received his B.A. magna cum laude in 1974 from the University of California Los Angeles, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. in 1977 from the University of California Los Angeles School of Law, where he was comment editor of the UCLA Law Review.
