Neal E. Minahan is an associate in Trial Department of McDermott Will & Emery LLP. He is based in the firm’s Boston office.
Neal has experience in a wide range of complex business disputes and has represented clients in both federal and state courts in a wide range of matters, including:
Defense of a major agribusiness company against a multi-million dollar misappropriation of trade secrets claim;
Defense, at trial and on appeal, of a major aircraft engine manufacturer in connection with a property dispute;
Defense of a Fortune 50 company against claims of fraud and breach of contract, involving complicated issues in bankruptcy and partnership law;
Prosecution of claims on behalf of a not-for-profit healthcare organization in connection with a complex, multi-million dollar contractual dispute; and
Representation of a leading health care corporation in connection with various government healthcare fraud investigations.
Neal has also been active in several pro bono matters, including the representation of two prison inmates in a significant civil rights litigation involving an inmate’s ability to exercise religion. The litigation involved new issues of federal statutory and constitutional law and culminated in a trial before the U.S. District Court.
While at Boston University School of Law, Neal served on the American Journal of Law and Medicine, was a G. Joseph Tauro Scholar and served as president of Outlaw, a student organization which provides professional and academic support to gay and lesbian law students and educates the public on legal issues affecting the gay and lesbian community. Prior to attending law school, Neal worked as a professional actor in New York City.
Neal is a member of the Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association and the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association. Neal is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
