One of the NFLís steadiest long snappers, Hodel has handled the long snapping duties in all 80 games over the last five seasons.
His 80 games played with the Cardinals rank third behind only Scott Player (140) and Adrian Wilson (94). Hodel and kicker Neil Rackers were college teammates at Illinois.

A staple of the special teams unit, Hodel has managed the snapping duties in every game over the last five years. After attending training camp with the Carolina Panthers in 2001, Hodel spent six games on the Panthers practice squad before being released on 10/24/01 and signed with the Cardinals on 10/26/01 but did not reach the field in his rookie campaign. Since then, Hodel has established himself as one of the most talented long snappers in the industry.
2006: Has not missed a game or a long snap for the Cardinals in five seasons collected one special teams tackle @ Sea (9/17); vs. KC (10/8); vs. Chi (10/16) collected two special teams tackles @ Oak (10/22).
2005: Again appeared in all 16 games recorded one special teams tackle vs. StL (9/18) snapped for four field goals including two of 50 or more yards @ Sea (9/25) snapped on all six of Neil Rackers field goals in Mexico City vs. SF (10/2) as Rackers broke the team record for consecutive field goals making his 16th consecutive snapped on all 40 of Rackers NFL record setting field goals in 2005.
2004: Handled the long snapping duties for all 16 Cardinals games of 2004 successfully long snapped for two successful field goals from beyond 50-yards (51, 52) vs. NE (9/19) snapped for three 50-plus yard field goals vs. Sea (10/24), Rackers connected on three attempts from 50 yards or further (55, 55, 50) recorded six special teams tackles signed a contract extension on 11/8 that will keep him under contract through the 2007 season.
2003: Suffered separated shoulder in final preseason game @ Min (8/28) but still managed to deliver in every game added four solo tackles and three assists on coverage units, including two solo tackles on the punting unit in season-ending 1817 win vs. Min (12/28).
2002: Handled all long-snapping duties recorded solo tackles on punt-coverage units @ Was (9/8), vs. NYG (9/29), @ Car (10/6) and vs. Oak (11/24).
2001: Attended 2001 training camp with Carolina Panthers spent six games on Panthers practice squad before release 10/24 signed by Cardinals two days later spent next nine games on practice squad elevated to 53-man roster for final two games but declared inactive.
Former walk-on at Illinois handled Illini long-snapping duties all four seasons lettered in football and baseball at Belleville (IL) East High School team captain and earned all-conference honors as offensive lineman in football and pitcher in baseball all-Illinois prep baseball pitcher also hurled for Illinois baseball squad.
