Naren Bakshi is a founder of Versata and served as President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Directors until 1998. Currently, he serves on several Boards including Versata, Xpede, and Hume Center. He is or has been senior advisor to the CEO and Board for Xoriant, Magnifi, and 123Signup. Naren is an angel investor and is a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). Naren is also a member of the Alliance of CEO's, a group of 150 CEO's/Founders in the Bay Area.
Naren brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic planning, consulting, information systems management, and business development. Prior to founding Versata and Xpede, he served in several senior management and CIO positions at Ameritrust Bank, British Petroleum, and TRW. Naren was also part of the TRW team that acquired Teknekron Financial Systems and earned the nomination for the 1990 TRW Chairman's Award of Innovation.
Naren holds an MS degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of California, Berkeley. Naren lives in Orinda, California.
