Nancy S. Grodberg is a partner in the Real Estate Department of our Boston office. She has concentrated her practice in the areas of real estate development and finance. During the past 20 years, Ms. Grodberg has represented owners, developers and lenders in the acquisition, development and financing of commercial and residential developments. She has been involved in a number of the larger scale development projects in Boston. Acting as general real estate counsel for these projects, she has been responsible for all phases of the planning, permitting, developing and financing. One project that has involved a significant amount of her time is the development of the World Trade Center/Boston. This development includes the fully operational World Trade Center, a 420 room hotel, 2 office buildings containing a total of 1,000,000 square feet, and a 2300 space parking garage. In addition to the customary real estate expertise and representation required in these projects, Ms. Grodberg has been involved in negotiating long term leases with the Massachusetts Port Authority, structuring the long term leases to accommodate the phased development and separate ownership of the projects and settlement of the takings required in connection with the Third Harbor Tunnel project with the Massachusetts Highway Department.
