Murray Grigg Profile :
Exec. VP - Geoscience, Engineering - Kerogen Resources Inc.

Murray Grigg Biography :

Mr. Grigg is a co-founder of Kerogen Resources, Inc., and has over 30 years experience in the oil and gas business as an exploration and development petroleum engineer. In the past 9 years he has specialized in the exploitation of gas produced from gas shales. From 1981 through 1995 he worked with Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd where his technology innovations led to the discovery and development of the Ring Border Field in NEBC (600 BCF) and the development of the July Lake Jean Maria formation play. When he was employed by EOG Resources, Canada, he completed CBM evaluations in the Eastern Green River Basin near Labarge, CBM east of the Rock Springs Uplift and CBM in the eastern rim of the Green River Basin.

As Chief Exploration Engineer for EOG Resources and then Tom Brown, he worked play types to include tight gas sands, coalbed methane and gas shale evaluations.

He recognized the hydrodynamic pressure distribution and gas saturation distribution properties necessary to make the Big George coal seam in the Powder River Basin

a commercial prospect. Mr. Grigg recognized and defined a Newark East type gas shale accumulation analog in a new basin. Under his direction, his former employer acquired more than 400,000 acres for less than $8MM exposure. A new basin play that was developed has a potential resource assessment of 12.0 TCF of gas.

Early recognition of the Southern Fort Worth Basin Barnett shale potential in Johnson County resulted in the acquisition of 40,000 acres of land. Johnson County position has a potential resource assessment of 500 BCF gas. He developed 6 large unconventional projects, and captured opportunities in 10 additional unconventional projects which were scheduled to mature in the second year. Mr. Grigg developed unconventional prospects with each division and spread technology and commercial knowledge of the unconventional business into other work units.

Mr. Grigg has a BASc of Applied Science with honors in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Master of Petroleum Engineering from the University of Calgary.
