Pro Career:

Originally drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round (107th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft, Beisel played in Kansas City for four seasons. He played one year in New England, signing with the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent on 4/14/05 and was released during their final roster cut on 9/1/06. Signed by the Cardinals on 11/6/06 as a free agent, Beisel signed a two-year deal with the team on 3/14/07 after appearing in eight games with two starts in 2006.

2006: Released by the Patriots following training camp on 9/1/06 and signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals on 11/6/06 appeared on special teams but did not record any statistics his first two games tied for the team lead with three special teams tackles @ StL (12/3) made his first start of the season for the injured Gerald Hayes, posting a team high eight tackles, one tackle for a loss and one QB pressure @ SF (12/24) collected five tackles, one pass defensed and the second interception of his career @ SD (12/31), a turnover that led to an Edgerrin James TD run and a 7-0 Cardinals lead.

2005: Recorded 57 tackles for New England, the second highest tackle total in his career and seven tackles shy of his career high started six of 15 games at inside linebacker and earned his first career playoff start vs. Jax (1/7) started the first five games of the season, the regular season finale and the Wild Card playoff game first start as a Patriot came vs. Oak (9/8) and tied for second on the team with seven stops collected six tackles @ Car (9/18) registered five tackles and one pass defensed @ Pit (9/25) notched eight tackles vs. SD (10/2) tied for the team lead with seven tackles including a sack of Matt Schaub @ Atl (10/9) recorded five tackles and one forced fumble @ Den (10/16) started in the regular season finale vs. Mia (1/1) and recorded seven tackles started at inside linebacker in the Wild Card game vs. Jax (1/7) and collected four stops saw action on special teams @ Den (1/14).

2004: Played in 11 games with nine starts and finished third on the team with a career-high 64 tackles with the Chiefs set a career high with 2.5 sacks and also recorded the first interception of his career made his first career start at middle linebacker in the season opener @ Den (9/12) and made his first career interception, snaring a Jake Plummer pass and also led the team in tackles with seven led the team in tackles for the second consecutive week vs. Car (9/19) recording a career high 13 stops posted seven tackles and forced a Kyle Boller fumble @ Bal (10/4) recorded five tackles and combined for a sack on Michael Vick vs. Atl (10/24) recorded six tackles and a sack of Billy Volek @ Ten (12/13) returned to the starting lineup as an outside linebacker vs. Den (12/19) dropped Kerry Collins as part of a seven-tackle day vs. Oak (12/25) picked up a fumble by Chargers running back Michael Turner and returned it nine yards vs. SD (1/2).

2003: Appeared in 12 games for the Chiefs ranked second on the team with 22 special teams stops and added a forced fumble and a partially blocked punt on teams produced a career-high four special teams stops @ Hou (9/21) recorded three special teams stops vs. Cle (11/9) partially blocked a Kyle Richardson punt and added three special teams stops @ Cin (11/16) recorded his first career sack when he dropped Rick Mirer vs. Oak (11/23) posted two special teams stops in the AFC Divisional Playoff game vs. Ind (1/11/04).

2002: Played in 16 games on special teams for the Chiefs had one tackle on defense and tied for second on the club with 15 special teams stops returned three kickoffs for 21 yards and fair caught one blocked a Tom Rouen punt that was recovered at the five-yard line to set up a touchdown vs. Den (10/20) had three special teams tackles vs. Oak (10/27) and @ SF (11/10) returned a kickoff for nine yards @ Sea (11/24).

2001: Played in 16 games on special teams for Kansas City and took snaps on defense in 13 made his NFL debut vs.Oak (9/9) as a reserve defensive end and recorded a tackle registered a season high three special teams tackles @ Was (9/30) tallied a career high seven tackles and a QB pressure @ NYJ (11/11) forced a Terry Kirby fumble on a kickoff return @ Oak (12/9) in addition to two special teams tackles and an eight-yard kickoff return had two special teams tackles vs. Den (12/16) had four tackles and a 14-yard kickoff return @ Sea (1/6/02).

College:

Played in 44 games at Kansas State finished his career with 192 tackles (110 solo), 22.0 sacks, 45.0 stops for a loss and 18 passes defensed was a two-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection started 13 games at weakside defensive end as a senior in 2000, leading the team with a career-high 102 tackles finished second on the squad with 10.5 sacks and 19.0 stops for a loss, while forcing three fumbles a consensus first-team All-Big 12 selection started all 11 games at weakside end as a junior, finishing the season with 47 tackles (34 solos), 6.5 sacks, nine quarterback pressures and nine passes defensed All-Big 12 Conference honorable mention and a second-team Academic All-Big 12 pick played in 11 games with two starts in 1998 and recorded 35 tackles with 4.0 sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery, forced fumble and a pass defensed appeared in nine games as a reserve defensive end in 1997, recording eight tackles with a sack and four tackles for a loss.

Personal:

Was an all-state performer who played for his father Doug at Douglass (KS) High School as a senior finished his career with 513 rushing attempts for 3,693 yards and caught 76 passes for 1,006 yards and 58 total touchdowns a 1996 Parade All-America selection by USA Today first-team all-state pick by the Topeka Capital-Journal a track standout who was a two-time winner of the state Class 3A discus and shot titles, as well as a two-time runner-up in the javelin and a finalist in the 100 meters as a senior also lettered in basketball.
