Monica Wiseman Latin Biography :

Ms. Latin is a partner at Carrington Coleman practicing in the area of business litigation at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts throughout the country, including commercial disputes, employment law, professional liability, construction litigation, fiduciary obligations, insurance litigation, and trade secret litigation. She has extensive experience advising clients concerning issues relating to the hiring and departure of employees, including covenants not to compete and misappropriation. Ms. Latin was named the "Outstanding Young Lawyer of Dallas" for 2004, an award that recognizes an attorney who has demonstrated professional excellence and is an active contributor to the community and the legal profession. She was twice named one of the "Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas" by D Magazine, and has been recognized by Texas Monthly magazine as a "Super Lawyer" each year since that award began in 2003. In a 2002 survey of almost 200 General Counsel from Fortune 1000 companies conducted by BTI Consulting Group, Ms. Latin was specifically identified for delivering truly outstanding and superior client service. She was one of only 91 lawyers nationwide listed as a BTI Client Service All-Star for 2002. Ms. Latin is a frequent speaker on litigation issues, including in particular issues relating to electronic discovery and spoliation of evidence. She is actively involved in the Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production of The Sedona Conference® and is a member of the advisory board for the Georgetown University E-Discovery Institute. She also participates in The Sedona Conference® Working Group Series on Protective Orders, Confidentiality and Public Access. Ms. Latin is also vitally interested in the use of microcredit programs to fight poverty in developing nations, and she serves as Immediate Past Chair of the Board of The Chiapas Project, a nonprofit dedicated to awareness-raising and fundraising for microcredit programs in Latin America.
