Mona has extensive experience in the pricing and development of both individual and group health benefit plans, including traditional indemnity plans as well as specialty areas such as HMOs, point-of-service products, dental, and stop-loss reinsurance. She has experience in the design and pricing of self-insured plans, including strategic planning, annual actuarial reports, and COBRA rate development.Mona is involved in ongoing consulting with numerous Taft-Hartley welfare funds in all phases of benefit design, analysis of health claims experience, monitoring of emerging experience, determining required rate revisions, evaluating claim liabilities, and performing financial projections. She also has experience assessing the impact of compliance with laws and regulations affecting benefits.In addition, she currently provides consulting services to a cooperative of 23 school districts, assisting in the certification of annual premium equivalents and reserves, the valuation of plan changes, and other actuarial issues. |
