Mitchell Rudin Biography :

Mitchell E. Rudin oversees all of the business and operating functions for the company’s nine offices located throughout the Region, and is intimately involved in setting the firm’s strategic direction. Under Mr. Rudin’s leadership, CB Richard Ellis has significantly expanded its position as the dominant market leader in the New York Tri-State Region, representing more corporations, property owners and tenants than any other real estate services company. CBRE has also consistently been recognized as one of the industry’s most creative deal-makers, with 17 Real Estate Board of New York Deal of the Year Awards since 1994. Following CBRE’s acquisition of Trammell Crow Company in 2006, Mr. Rudin played a major role in the successful integration of both firms’ operations in the Tri-State Region in 2007. In his previous position as President, Brokerage Services, for CBRE, Mr. Rudin oversaw the firm's tenant and landlord brokerage operations for office, retail and industrial leasing throughout the United States. In this role, he helped develop and execute the strategic business plan for the growth of the organization. He held a similar position at Insignia/ESG as President of U.S. Transaction Services until CBRE’s acquisition of that firm in 2003. Mr. Rudin also ran the transition team for Insignia/ESG in connection with the merger with CBRE. Mr. Rudin was an instrumental member of the Consulting Group upon joining the firm in 1989, and both created and grew Insignia's Agency Group in 1993, which became one of New York's preeminent owner's agents with a portfolio in excess of 23 million sq. ft. During his career, Mr. Rudin has completed a wide range of significant transactions and assignments, including overseeing CBRE’s exclusive leasing agency for the Empire State Building; the $400 million redevelopment of New York Plaza; the sale of the 1 million-sq.-ft. 59 Maiden Lane; a 1 million-sq.-ft. lease for Prudential Securities; the sale of 866 Third Avenue and subsequent sale of a 200,000-sq.-ft. condominium interest in 866 Third Avenue to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; and 400,000 sq. ft. of leases on behalf of law firms Greenberg Traurig and Kasowitz Benson. Prior to joining Insignia/ESG, Mr. Rudin was a partner at Tishman Speyer Properties, where he was responsible for leasing a substantial portion of the company's New York area portfolio. He was formerly an attorney with Davis & Gilbert, where he practiced real estate law.
