Mitchell R. Moore is the Vice President of Ethics & Quality for L-3 Communications Integrated Systems (L-3 IS) and has responsibility for all L-3 IS sites. In this capacity, Moore is the AS9100 Management Representative for the Enterprise Certificate and the L-3 IS Ethics Officer. Moore was appointed to this position in 2004. Moore joined the company in May 1977 as a computer operator responsible for the operation of the mainframe computer to produce, control & monitor multiprogrammed on-line data systems. This night shift position provided him the opportunity to attend college during the day. In 1982, Moore accepted a position in the Quality department as a Quality Engineer in the Technical Publications department. Later that year, Moore was transferred to the Quality Data Analysis System Program. In this position, he was responsible for the analysis of field maintenance and functional test data in support of off-site operations. Moore developed and deployed several process improvements that provided direct benefits for the customer and company. He was promoted in 1986 to manage the overall program and established himself as the customer focal point for all related issues. Moore’s responsibilities continued to expand from 1986 to 1995 to include supervisory roles for system, data and customer liaison tasks within the Quality organization. In 1995, Moore was promoted to Quality Manager responsible for Manufacturing, Software and Hangar, Dock & Line areas. During this time, he was instrumental in the development of many programs and systems such as the Self Inspection Program, Corrective Action System, ISO Program and Certified Supplier Program. In 2001, Moore was promoted to Senior Manager. The promotion included oversight of the Greenville Quality program and ISO Management Representative responsibility for the IS business unit. In 2003, Moore was appointed Director of Ethics/Quality for L-3 IS. In this position, Moore helped the company achieve AS9100 enterprise certification. Moore has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and has achieved ASQ Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer. Moore is currently pursuing his MBA.
