Mitch Roberts can't tell you how happy he is to finally be back home in Texas. Mitch grew up in Dallas and graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos. He started his career as a sports anchor and has had some wonderful breaks in the business. Mitch says he was blessed to cover Notre Dame Football, Ohio State Football and all of the professional sports in St. Louis, Missouri. He also worked several years reporting sports and news in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Back in 2004 he switched "full-time" to covering the news... and he has never looked back. Mitch's first full-time news job was in Nashville, Tennessee. He covered the Mary Winkler trial that turned into a big national story. He also covered a major tornado that swept through middle Tennessee and did live shots on Fox News Channel with Shephard Smith. It was on that day that he realized that all of the ad-lib skills he obtained covering sports would serve him well in breaking news situations.
Mitch, his wife, Leah, and his two girls, Mia and Ava feel truly blessed to be back home in Texas. The whole family appreciates the great schools, great football, and great Mexican food!
