Mitch Lyles has extensive experience in the design and management of engineered systems for a variety of project types; including healthcare, research, performing/cultural arts, corporate/workplace, historic preservation and educational facilities. His project design experience includes new work, additions, and renovation projects. Mr. Lyles. responsibilities include accountability for the entire engineering staff and its production, as well as the quality assurance/ quality control for the mechanical engineering designs.
Mr. Lyles. technical, mechanical engineering design experience includes constant and variable volume air distribution systems; refrigeration, chilled and condenser water piping systems; energy recovery systems and .green. technology; specialized air-conditioning systems such as computer rooms, operating rooms, audio rooms and clean rooms; electric, natural gas, steam or fuel oil heating systems; constant and variable pumping systems; medical gas, plumbing and fire protection systems and building automation control systems.
Under his leadership, Westlake Reed Leskosky won the prestigious American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Region V Technology Award for their work on the historic Coronado Theater in Rockford, Illinois. The award was for the application of state-of the- art mechanical systems in an historic facility, and maintaining the character of the facility, while minimizing energy consumption and maintenance, and maximizing indoor air quality and thermal comfort.
