Mike Young is SWEPCO's general manager of corporate communications. He directs internal and external communications activities for the company's three-state service territory. He has local and regional responsibility for news media, public policy, branding and public relations activities.
Young has held a number of positions with SWEPCO, including director, corporate communications; manager, business operations; area manager; training coordinator; human resource representative; marketing consultant and customer service representative.
Young completed the Community Development Institute at the University of Central Arkansas and was United Way Chairman, Rogers, Arkansas. He is a past member of the Rogers Planning Commission and has served on the board of directors of the Rogers Chamber of Commerce and the Caddo Public Education Foundation. Past-president of the Rogers Kiwanis Club, Young is a member of Westview Christian Church in Shreveport where he serves as trustee.
Young has a B.A. in English from Louisiana Tech University and has completed management development courses at the University of Idaho, University of Virginia and Baylor University.
He lives in Shreveport with his wife, Phyllis. They have one daughter. |
