Awarded scholarships for both college wrestling and football, Mike went on to play professional football for the Parma Panthers in Italy.His fitness continued to play a part in his life as he won strongest man contests at Alfred University (400lb bench press and 700lb squat), and worked successfully as a personal trainer in Syracuse, New York, for 5 years before moving to Chicago in 1995.Although never swaying from his personal commitment to fitness, Mike made use of his finance degree by working as a bond trader at the Chicago Board of Trade, but he soon found that he was more of a people person than a numbers guy.
