Mike Gallagher is the Vice President and General Manager of L-3 Communications Nautronix in Fremantle, Australia. L-3 Nautronix is an Australian-based company with significant expertise in acoustic communications and telemetry and tracking systems for naval and maritime applications. Mr. Gallagher brings over 25 years of naval and commercial experience to the Fremantle business. Prior to assuming his current appointment, Mr. Gallagher was Raytheon Australia’s General Manager for Strategy and Business Development, which followed a successful appointment as the General Manager of that company’s Naval Systems business leading significant company growth and solid positioning in Australia’s naval sectors -- particularly with submarine combat and weapon systems, including software and systems engineering as well as responsibility for all new business and programs. Mr Gallagher spent over 20 years in the Royal Australian Navy, specialising in submarines. He served in a number of Australia’s Oberon Class submarines before successfully completing the Submarine Command Course in 1989. After four years on exchange with the Royal Navy, which included the Royal Navy Staff Course and command of the UK Submarine HMS OSIRIS, he returned to Australia to lead the training and development for the new COLLINS Class Submarines as well as being in command of the second of the class, HMAS FARNCOMB. Mr Gallagher retired from the Navy as a Commander in 1998 to pursue other career interests and is a graduate of the University of New South Wales. |
