Ms. La Motte has more than twenty-three years of experience in the hospitality industry and has been directly involved in consulting for the hospitality industry for eighteen years. Prior to working with The Innovation Group, Ms. La Motte was Vice President of The Gettys Group, Inc., where she was responsible for all of the projects, activities and profits of the Consulting Department. Previously, she was the hospitality and gaming practice leader for the Northeast and Southwest regions within the Deloitte & Touche LLP Valuation and Realty Consulting Group. During her tenure with Deloitte & Touche, Ms. La Motte directed numerous consulting projects involving market and economic feasibility analysis, planning and financial structuring. She conducted exhaustive joint venture and lender due diligence, as well as strategic planning for major hotel operators. She also assisted in the negotiation and documentation for the acquisition, disposition and refinancing of existing hotel products throughout the United States.
Ms. La Motte has provided consulting services to a diverse client base, including lenders, operators, attorneys, asset managers, developers and owners of hotels, conference centers, restaurants, casinos, spas, golf courses, tennis clubs, ski resorts, theme parks, arenas/stadiums, time-share projects and mixed-use facilities. The scope of services provided include operator selection and contract negotiations. Ms. La Motte has developed strategic plans, with respect to hotel operating companies and restaurant chains, and provided appraisal, workout, asset management, and value enhancement services for hotel portfolios.
In addition, Ms. La Motte has advised owners, operators and lenders in the following areas: evaluating hotel operations, market performance, marketing plans and strategy; identifying operating deficiencies and preparing and implementing strategy; performing financial and sensitivity analysis; and providing restructuring alternatives relative to contractual and financial issues. She has provided litigation support and expert testimony with regard to a number of hospitality-related issues. Ms. La Motte is a frequent speaker for industry panels on a variety of topics relevant to hotel operators and owners and has lectured at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. She has been quoted and published in a variety of business and hospitality publications, including Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Business Journal, Los Angeles Daily News, San Diego Business Developer, Lodging Hospitality, and Barron's Magazine.
Ms. La Motte holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Management in Hospitality from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, and held several positions in hotel operations prior to obtaining her graduate degree, including that of General Manager of the Statler Inn at Cornell University.
Ms. La Motte participates in many industry councils and is affiliated with some of the industry's leading associations. She has been actively involved in the Cornell Hotel Society for several years, having served on the Board of the New York City Chapter and two terms as President of the Southern California Chapter. She is currently Regional Vice President for the South Central United States. She is also a member of the American Hotel and Motel Association's Lodging Industry Investment Council. |
