Michelle Moritz is of counsel at Eimer Stahl Klevorn & Solberg LLP. She has experience in a wide variety of commercial litigation matters including contract disputes, toxic tort cases, consumer fraud actions, and antitrust matters. Representative cases include the following: Defending CITGO Petroleum Corporation in a multi-million dollar breach of contract and fraud case brought by one of its distributors, and obtaining a jury verdict in CITGO's favor. Representing Commonwealth Edison Company in various administrative proceedings before the Illinois Commerce Commission stemming from the deregulation of the electricity industry in Illinois. Defending Praxair, a leading supplier of industrial gases, in consumer fraud actions in state courts around the country. From August 2001 to August 2002, Michelle served as a law clerk to the Honorable Matthew F. Kennelly in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. From 1997 to 2000, Michelle was an associate with the Chicago office of Sidley & Austin. Michelle graduated magna cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law in 1997, and received an undergraduate degree from Calvin College in 1994. |
