Michelle D. Potter is president of Con-way Truckload Services Inc., an operating unit of Menlo Worldwide, providing over-the-road truckload brokerage and intermodal services throughout the United States and Canada.
Con-way Truckload Services Inc. is a subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (previously known as CNF Inc.), a $4.2 billion transportation and logistics company with businesses in less-than-truckload motor carriage, truckload services, logistics, warehousing, supply chain management and trailer manufacturing.
As the top executive of the truckload brokerage and intermodal services operating unit of Menlo Worldwide, Ms. Potter is responsible for the overall strategic planning and direction of the company including day-to-day oversight of the sales, operations, personnel, information technology, administration, and accounting functions.
Ms. Potter previously served as president of Con-way Expedite & Brokerage until the sale of Con-way Expedite to Panther Expedited Services in July 2006.
Prior to her promotion to president, Ms. Potter served as vice president of operations at Con-Way NOW, where she was responsible for all company operations, information technologies, customer service, and finance, in addition to all operations for Con-Way Full Load, a truckload brokerage service started in January of 2002. She held this position from October of 2002 until she was promoted to her current position in November 2005.
Ms. Potter is an original employee of Con-Way NOW. She was initially hired in 1996 as an administrative assistant; six months later she was promoted to supervisor of administration. In 1998, Ms. Potter was promoted to manager of administration, and later to director of administration and human resources. In 2001 she was promoted to director of operations.
Ms. Potter holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with double majors in math and management from Adrian College. She is based at the Con-way Truckload Services office in Ann Arbor, Mich. |
