Michel Eeckhout (1949) is Delhaize Group Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Delhaize Belgium. He joined Delhaize Group in 1978, as IT project leader and IT manager. In addition, he became Group coordinator for the IT-activities in Europe and Asia in 1992 and member of the Executive Committee of Delhaize Belgium in 1995. He was appointed Delhaize Group Vice President of Information Technology Processes and Systems in 2001 and was Chief Information Officer from 2002 to 2007. He became a member of the Executive Committee of Delhaize Group in September 2005. He is a member of the Board of Directors of GS1 and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GS1 Belgium. He is also a Board member of the World Wide Retail Exchange. Michel Eeckhout earned a Master's degree in economics (at UFSIA, Antwerp) and in European economics, and an Executive Master in General Management, from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels. |
