With over 20 years of executive management, product development, human capital management, and IT systems experience, Mr. Chick leads Noblemen Group’s Human Capital Management.
Mr. Chick also serves as President of Noblemen Group affiliate, Cornerstone Initiatives, a top-level consulting firm specializing in creating superior operating results. Cornerstone has worked with U.S. and international corporations in a wide range of industries, producing notable results.
While at Cornerstone, Michal worked with Infocore, where he engineered the restructuring, built a new sales process, and initiated a six-sigma quality improvement that enabled Infocore to significantly increase revenues with no increase in support staff.
His expertise in company restructuring is backed by a healthy list of accomplishments: Michal worked with TEC International, a 7,000-member organization of CEOs, where he created specifications and managed the process for a new system central to TEC’s first offering to expand its membership to other CxO’s. He served as Vice President of Operations for Edupoint.com, a venture-backed business-to-business learning portal. He was in charge of building the operations and service capabilities from the ground up, including successfully raising $15 million in 2nd round financing and growing the company from four to 86 people in ten months.
As CEO of MC Squared Multimedia, a developer of custom business multimedia applications, he grew revenues 345 percent over three years, building the 13th largest multimedia company in San Diego, and sold the company to Edupoint, where his team became the core of that company.
As Corporate Vice President of Information Technology and Human Resources for Tylan General Corp, Michal helped to grow the company from $35M and @ 150 employees in 1991 to a high of $150M in revenues and nearly 1000 employees by 1996. Tylan General completed a successful initial public offering in January of 1995 and completed a secondary offering early in September of 1995, raising a total of $25.9M. As a senior human resources representative for General Dynamics’ Electronics Division, Michal was involved in salary administration, labor relations, employee counseling, relocation, affirmative action and Equal Employment Opportunity, college relations, employee benefits, and training of supervision and employees, and procedure development. Mr. Chick earned a BA in Communications from Stanford University, and was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force serving as flight instructor and a B-52 squadron operations officer.
Michal lives in San Diego with his wife of 21 years and enjoys reading, playing with his dogs, and participating in sports, with a special fondness for basketball, tennis and golf (where his goal is to play well enough to not be considered a comedy event). He is also writing a book on moving human resources from the back room to the Board room. |
