Michael is the Founding Partner of the Los Angeles office of Battalia Winston International, a Global Top-20 Executive Search firm. His main practice area is Consumer Goods. Michael has been in the Executive Search Industry for 21 years.
Michael will be responsible for political and research liaison activities relating to diabetic research in the United States. Michael’s long-term, senior involvement with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and his recent role as a lead organizer for Finding a Cure A Love Story A Tribute to Nancy Regan, a JDRF Gala to raise money solely for stem cell research, make him ideally suited to advise and/or coordinate involvement with relevant private and government entities involved in diabetic research.
Biography
A native of Oakland, Iowa, Michael is a graduate of Drake University. He is married with two children and resides in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council and Town Hall, Los Angeles, and has served on the Board of Trustees at the Center for Healthy Aging. Additionally, Michael served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and President for the Los Angeles Chapter of JDRF, as well as being a member of the Field Operations Committee for JDRF International. Michael has rejoined the Los Angeles Board of JDRF and is currently serving as its President.
He has also worked closely with the founders of CuresNow to raise funds in support of research to cure diabetes and to pass Proposition 71. CuresNow was the initial organization to champion support for state-funded stem cell research in California, an effort that ultimately resulted in the development and passage of Proposition 71. Michael has been a diabetic for 38 years, and for the last 10 years, has been actively involved in helping to fund research to find a cure. |
