Michael has more than 20 years of experience providing professional services to both public and private multinational companies. His primary area of focus has been in providing public accounting services for 13 years to large multinational clients in various industries.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron Michael was an audit senior manager with both PricewaterhouseCoopers and Arthur Andersen. He was also a Board Member and Chief Financial Officer for a privately held hospitality and timeshare company located in Las Vegas Nevada.
Michael has held various senior management positions for Hospitality and Gaming companies worldwide. He has supervised various accounting transactions including multinational synthetic lease transactions multinational securitization transactions raising debt and equity in the public markets lead manager on six initial public offerings and various M&A transactions including purchase and pooling accounting. Michael has extensive SEC experience and has instructed various technical courses including SEC Hot Topics accounting updates and industry updates. His background has covered various industries including Real Estate Hospitality Gaming Technology (Hardware) Manufacturing Distribution Retail and Restaurants.
Representative examples of Michael's engagement experience include:
Supervised a $500M five European country securitization transaction with a focus on U.S. GAAP compliance and the review of adequate corporate controls and procedures documented prior to the transaction. Transaction was noted as the first securitization of corporate assets in Hungary.
Supervised various multinational synthetic lease transactions with a focus on compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting.
Managed various M&A transactions including compliance with purchase and pooling accounting guidelines.
Managed various reorganization transactions including compliance with U.S. GAAP guidelines.
Reviewed and approved various financing construction and asset purchase transactions.
Assisted with the due diligence team to acquire and open a 200 room hotel located in Cancun Mexico.
