Known internationally as a pioneer in Internet content, Michael Kolowich is currently President and Executive Producer of DigiNovations, a diversified video and multimedia production company. Kolowich's 30-year career spans a wide spectrum of leadership positions in television, publishing, computer software, strategy consulting, and Internet services. Armed with an undergraduate degree from Harvard, he launched his career with assignments as a news producer and street reporter for Boston network affiliates WBZ and WGBH, where he won an Emmy award for outstanding news reporting. After graduating with honors from Harvard Business School, he joined Bain and Company as a strategy consultant, rising quickly to Vice President and Partner in the firm, responsible for worldwide technology planning. He was Vice President of Marketing for Lotus Development Corporation during its major growth period in the mid-1980s, and was later founding publisher and columnist for PC/Computing magazine. Kolowich led Ziff-Davis' charge into the online and Internet arena by founding Ziff-Davis Interactive, and was its President during its formative years. An acquisition brought him to AT&T, where he was President of AT&T New Media in the mid-1990s. He became president of Individual, Incorporated, the publicly-traded pioneer in customized news filtering, and co-founded NewsEdge Corporation, serving as its Vice Chairman until its acquisition by Thomson Corporation in 2001.
