Mike Greenough was appointed to serve on DecisionOne’s Board of Directors in May 2007. He is an experienced leader in corporate turnarounds and profitably growing companies - both public and private incorporating organic and acquisition strategies. He is currently a senior advisor to Cerberus Capital Management.
Mr. Greenough most recently served as President, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of SSA Global, a global enterprise software company. When he assumed leadership of SSA Global in May 2001, he launched an aggressive strategy to transform the company. Since then, SSA Global increased its customer base through mergers, acquisitions and organic growth to approximately 10,000 active customers, and has increased its offerings to include a full range of integrated extension solutions. Mr. Greenough led the effort to bring SSA Global public in 2005, completing the company’s transformation. In July of 2006 SSA was sold to a strategic competitor and realized a $1.4 billion profit for its original shareholders.
Previously, Mr. Greenough was Chief Operating Officer of Constellation Software, Inc., a vertical market application software company with annual revenues of over $150 million. During his tenure with the company, Mr. Greenough implemented a business operating model that produced a 10 percent return on sales in the first eight months and positioned the company for a series of strategic acquisitions to round out its product offering.
Prior to Constellation Software, Inc., Mr. Greenough was general manager of Geac Commercial Systems, a sizable part of a combined billion-dollar supplier of software to multiple vertical markets. With a return on sales near 25 percent, Mr. Greenough designed and executed on a business model that leveraged teamwork and proven tactics, creating a solid foundation for Geac’s future revenue and profit growth.
From 1984 to 1990, Mr. Greenough was Regional Vice President of Operations at Jonas & Erickson, which at that time was the largest North American supplier of construction and property management systems. As the company’s first U.S. employee, Mr. Greenough grew the U.S. business to over $5 million and helped coordinate the successful sale of the business to Geac, where he took over their U.S. business in 1990.
Prior to 1984, Mr. Greenough worked as an accountant for more than fifteen years and was a partner at William Eisenberg & Co, a public accounting firm where he developed an aptitude for the operational side of business and worked on various high profile projects including acquisitions and systems implementation.
Mr. Greenough was a Fellow at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and graduated in 1972, subsequently in 1976, became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario to which he is still a member in good standing. In 2001 he attended the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management. |
