Michael Brown is a Partner at Battery Ventures, a global venture capital and private equity firm based in Wellesley, MA. Since joining Battery Ventures in 1998, Mr. Brown has made, or managed, a number of investments in the areas of information technology, specialty finance and business services. Mr. Brown currently serves on the board of directors of Fingerhut Direct Marketing, a privately held database marketing company, and OutlookSoft Corporation, a privately held company providing web-based business performance management solutions. In addition, he has been actively involved with Battery's investments in ChemConnect, The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (acquired by Euronext) and Pedestal, Inc. From 1996 to 1998, Michael was a member of the High Technology Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he worked on a variety of debt and equity financings and merger and acquisition assignments. Prior to joining the High Technology Group, he was a financial analyst within Goldman's Financial Institutions Group between 1994 and 1996. Mr. Brown graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a dual BS in Finance and International Business.
