Michael Bigham is a General Partner of Abingworth Management, a leading international venture capital firm concentrating in life sciences. From December 2002 to March 2004 he served as Vice Chairman of Corixa Corporation, a publicly-traded biotechnology company, and was President and Chief Executive of Coulter Pharmaceuticals from July 1996 until it merged into Corixa in December 2000. Previously, he was an early employee at Gilead Sciences where he spent eight years serving in various capacities, including Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer. Before joining Gilead, Mr. Bigham was a partner at Hambrecht & Quist where he became Co-Head of Healthcare Investment Banking. He has a B.S. Degree with distinction from the University of Virginia and qualified as a CPA before completing his MBA at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business
