Dr. Glynn joined Kenyon & Kenyon in 2005 as a legal intern and technical advisor. He is involved in the preparation of opinions relating to patent validity and infringement, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, and technical support in patent litigations, primarily in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceutical science. In addition, Dr. Glynn is currently attending Fordham University School of Law in the evening program.
Dr. Glynn received his Ph.D. in Human Genetics from the University of Michigan. His thesis was titled, "The Effects of Lamin A Mutations in Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome." Dr. Glynn's thesis research on Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS or progeria), a premature aging syndrome, focused on investigating the underlying molecular mechanisms that link the specific HGPS mutation with cellular abnormalities, as well as investigating potential therapeutic options.
Prior to his Ph.D., Dr. Glynn was Laboratory Supervisor in the DNA Diagnostics Laboratory at Yale University School of Medicine for four years where he supervised clinical testing for genetic diseases and performed research on the genetics of cancer syndromes. While at Yale, Dr. Glynn was presented with the Award for Outstanding Clinical Educator by the University of Connecticut School of Allied Health.
Dr. Glynn received a masters degree in Microbiology from the University of Connecticut in 1993 with a thesis entitled "Determination of the Mode of Action of Pyrithione." This research focused on identifying the mode of action of the biocide, pyrithione, leading to two patents.
Dr. Glynn has presented his research at national and international meetings, and his research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals including Human Molecular Genetics, Nature, Nature Genetics, and the American Journal of Human Genetics. |
