Michael Tokarz joined Conseco's board of directors in September 2003. Tokarz is the chairman of MVC Capital Inc. (a registered investment company). In addition he has been a managing member of the Tokarz Group LLC (venture capital investments) since 2002. Tokarz also serves as a director of Walter Industries Inc Idex Corp. and Dakota Growers Pasta Companies Inc.
Prior to founding the Tokarz Group Tokarz was a general partner with Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (known widely as "KKR") from 1985 until he retired in 2002. As part of his activities he has participated in diverse leveraged buyouts financings restructurings and dispositions.
Tokarz is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana with a bachelor of arts degree in economics with high distinction and an MBA in finance at the Graduate School of Business Administration. He subsequently earned a post-graduate certificate as a Certified Public Accountant. |
