Mr. Whitt concentrates his litigation practice in the areas of Business, Construction and Real Estate on behalf of developers, lenders, governmental entities, corporate insurers, manufacturers, contractors, subcontractors, materials suppliers, and community associations. He has extensive trial and appellate experience in many areas of the law, including construction law and litigation, mortgages and construction lien foreclosure actions, zoning and land use, boundary and title disputes, eminent domain (for both condemning authorities and property owners), housing discrimination cases, defense of ADA claims, community association litigation and all types of contract disputes. Mr. Whitt also focuses his practice on the representation of Developers of planned residential communities and mixed-use projects. He counsels Developers in the creation, marketing, and development of Condominium and Homeowner Communities throughout Florida, including the drafting of contracts and condominium documents. Activities & Memberships Mr. Whitt is a member of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Section of The Florida Bar, and is also a member of the Real Estate Investment Society, a public policy organization for members of the real estate industry in Southwest Florida, as well as a Barrister member of the Calusa Chapter of the American Inns of Court. He frequently lectures on community association, construction and real estate law issues, and has recently lectured at the University of Miami's Annual Cluster Housing Institute. |
