Mike has more than 20 years of accounting and consulting experience. Mike has extensive project management experience within industries including Healthcare Financial Services Insurance Manufacturing Automotive Print and Media Advertising and Corporate Real Estate. Focus areas of expertise include management of restatements turnarounds bankruptcy reorganization and liquidation mergers and acquisitions joint ventures system conversions (ERP) shared service implementation start-ups Sarbanes- Oxley and process reengineering.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron Mike was a Partner at Callaway Partners now a Huron Consulting Group Practice overseeing National Delivery on all projects. Previously he spent three years as the vice president of finance for Dimac Corporation where he managed the bankruptcy processes. In the preceding 13 years Mike held various senior finance and accounting positions with ADVO Inc. based in Hartford Connecticut.

Provided project management for one of the largest restatement projects in the country within the Healthcare industry while working in concert with a number of accounting firms. The project expanded from an initial core team of five project professionals to 300+ professionals.
Provided extensive accounting analysis in connection with bankruptcy reporting and claims management within the advertising industry.
Led teams that implemented shared services for accounting and finance functions within print media manufacturing and real estate industries.
Led a team of 100+ professionals that assisted with a restatement within the automotive manufacturing industry. This team has provided assistance in many different work streams including financial reporting equity roll-forward account reconciliations variable interest entities and tax.
Partnered with clients to provide project management for process reengineering of areas including cash reconciliations other account reconciliations fixed assets and month-end close.
Managed claims process (including preferential claims) and provided analysis as part of the liquidation within bankruptcy.
Led forensic accounting investigations as part of restatement activity. This process included teaming with internal and external audit senior management.
Provided project management oversight of 80+ project professional Sarbanes Oxley engagement. This project included a full range of services including walkthroughs documentation (narratives and process flows) testing exception analyses gap identification and remediation.
