Mike Barnum is the group executive responsible for Client Services. In this role, his responsibilities include ongoing management and strategic leadership of Banking Operations, Loan Services, Cash Management Operations, Payment and Image Services and the Client Satisfaction Centers. In this capacity, Mike is responsible for over 3,000 leaders and associates that are deployed across the corporation's geographic footprint.
Mike began his banking career in 1975 when he joined Ameritrust (formerly Cleveland Trust) as a management associate and has held a variety of positions in Consumer Banking. After his initial experience in branch banking, Mike gained corporate staff experience in strategic planning, product development and electronic banking. Subsequently, he was responsible for consumer products including deposit, credit and investment/brokerage services as well as consumer market segments.
In 1992, with the Society National Bank and Ameritrust merger, Mike assumed responsibility for delivery of service through the branch banking network. With the merger of KeyCorp and Society in 1994, his responsibilities expanded with the nationwide network of KeyCenters to also include delivery system strategies. In 1999, Mike joined the Client Services Group with responsibilities for Banking Operations which included Item and Exception Processing, Cash Vault and Depository Services, Statement and Print Services as well as logistics.
Mike is a 1975 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College with a Bachelor of Science degree in management and marketing. In addition, he received his MBA in Banking and Finance from Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management in 1981.
Among Mike's community activities, he is a Director of the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center and has served on their Strategic Planning and Personnel Committees. In addition, he is a director of the Ohio Half Arabian Horse Association and is the Arabian Horse Association's regional budget director. |
