Michael P. Witzing, Chief Technology Officer - Power Generation Michael Witzing has more than 20 years of experience in the power generation industry. Prior to joining General Compression, Michael served as Executive Vice President, Engineering & Construction with LS Power Development, an independent energy project developer and owner. During his 11 years with LS Power, Michael contributed to the successful development, financing, and management of $3 billion of energy projects. Michael's chief responsibilities included management of conceptual design, environmental permitting, equipment supply, construction, and operation of large power generation facilities and administration of power purchase agreements. Prior to working at LS Power, Michael served as the Plant Engineer at Sithe Energies' Independence Power Plant during construction, commissioning, and the first two years of commercial operations. His responsibilities included plant performance analysis, economic optimization, contract administration, and plant engineering. Michael began his professional career at the Consolidated Edison Company of New York, holding several positions in plant operations and maintenance, performance analysis, and engineering. Michael earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from The Cooper Union School of Engineering and completed additional graduate level studies in engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology and in business administration at Syracuse University. |
