Mr. Allen brings over 23 years experience in business operations and strategy and technical management of physician office and consumer medical devices and diagnostics. As founder of Metrika, and immediate-past CEO, he successfully developed and introduced A1cNow, and established the company as a leader of innovative technology in diabetes.Prior to founding Metrika, Mr. Allen held the position of Vice President of Research and Development and Operations at ChemTrak, Inc. At ChemTrak, he led the development of the consumer diagnostic product and achieved FDA clearance, product manufacturing and market introduction in record time. The AccuMeter® (aka. CholesTrac and Home Diagnostics Cholesterol Test) is still found in all major drug store chains throughout the United States.Mr. Allen began his career at Syva Company, a division of Syntex Pharmaceuticals (now Hoffman la Roche). He developed the commercially successful AccuLevel physician office and successful EMIT products which dominated the drugs of abuse lab diagnostic marketplace during this period with a $150MM in annual revenues. Mr. Allen was a founding member of Syntex Medical Diagnostics and began one of the first successful physician office diagnostics businesses in the early 1980's.Mr. Allen is the author of numerous publications and holds 23 issued medical device patents. He holds a BA in Biochemistry from University of California at Berkeley. |
