Michael M. Tarnow, of Boston, Massachusetts, USA, has served on the Board since August 2000. He held various positions with Merck & Co., Inc. including President and Chief Executive Officer of Merck Frosst Canada from 1990 to 1994. From 1995 to 2000, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Creative BioMolecules, Inc. a biotechnology corporation.
Currently, he is Chairman of Entremed, Inc., a publicly traded company.
