Michael L. Millenson is the author of the critically acclaimed Demanding Medical Excellence: Doctors and Accountability in the Information Age (University of Chicago Press). He is both an independent consultant and the Mervin Shalowitz, MD Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. From 1996 to 2001, Millenson was a principal in the health care consulting practice of William M. Mercer, Inc. From 1994 to 1996, he was a visiting scholar at Northwestern, where he wrote his book under an Investigator Award in Health Policy Research from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Prior to that, as a long-time reporter for the Chicago Tribune, Millenson was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize three times. Millenson is a member of the National Commission for Quality Long-term Care and on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Medical Quality and Quality and Safety in Health Care. |
