Michael L. Cooper, Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Cooper joined Kincannon & Reed in 2004 from a distinguished career as one of the top senior executives in the food industry. From 2002 until 2004, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Meyer Foods, the privately held, branded protein company which he grew by 41 percent, positioning it to become the industry leader. For the six years prior to that, he had been with Perdue Farms Incorporated, serving from 2000 to 2002 as President and General Manager of the company’s $1.8 billion Retail Products Division, responsible for product development, sales, marketing, operations, supply chain and administration. From 1998 to 2000, he was Senior Vice President, Perdue Specialty Foods, with P&L accountability for two divisions, full sales, marketing and administrative oversight. Concurrently, he served as CFO for the parent company, was a voting member of the board of directors and led the company’s acquisition and business development, reporting to the chairman. As Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Perdue Farms from 1996 until 1998, he led 170 financial, accounting and I/T professionals across three divisions of the company, and was appointed to the Board of Directors in February 1998. Prior to Perdue, Mr. Cooper was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer of Rocco Enterprises, the nation’s fourth-largest integrated turkey products manufacturer, marketing under the Shady Brook, Marvel and Valley Chef Brands, with annual revenues of $600 million. From 1978 until 1992, he was with The Dial Corporation, concluding as acting General Manager and Division Chief Financial Officer of a $500 million division. He began his career as a corporate investment analyst at Hallmark Cards, Inc. in 1976. A graduate of Arizona State University, with a BS degree in marketing and an MBA in finance, he was a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Arizona, Virginia, and Maryland. |
